Warehouse Manager

Reports to: Operations Manager

Summary

Manages either the night or day warehouse operations ensuring the receipt, coordination, and safety of goods coming through the warehouse, and that orders arrive and are dispatched on time to the right destinations and in the right quantities.

Skills/Education/Requirements

  • At least 2 years college background or equivalent; Bachelors degree preferred
  • 2 –3 years lead/first line supervision in a distribution environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral/written skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with AS400 operating system
  • Familiarity with radio frequency scanning
  • P.I.T. certification preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee efficient operations of warehouse operations within scope of responsibility.
  • Working with the Operations group develops, implements, and monitors standard operation procedure for warehousing.
  • Monitors warehouse employee productivity/quality in accordance with the standards developed by the operations group.
  • Develops and implements action plans (eg., facility/equipment improvements) designed to improve warehouse employee productivity/quality.)
  • Determines warehousing personnel and equipment requirements by evaluating warehouse activities, projected volumes, customer base, and product mixes, in accordance with productivity standards.
  • Enforcing safety and sanitation requirements: Ensures that Core-Mark, OSHA, and AIB standards for warehousing, distribution, and employee safety are met.
  • Implements corporate policies and procedures for warehouse security.
  • With the operations group, identifies requirements and implements training programs for the DC warehouse and transportation employees.
  • Has responsibility for the selection and hiring of candidates for warehouse positions. Directs their activities, evaluates their performance, and approves their merit pay increases.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
